The National Olympic Committee president congratulates the first winners of the 2017 Winter Universiade
Almaty (Kazakhstan); January 31, 2017: President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan Timur Kulibayev sent a telegram of congratulations to Alina Raikova, Zhanbota Aldabergenova and Baghlan Inkarbek on the occasion of their victories at XXVIII World Winter Universiade. In the message he expressed gratitude to the athletes for the first gold medals won by Kazakhstan national team at the Winter Universiade - 2017, as well as every success and further victories.
"On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and myself let me congratulate you with the gold medals of XXVIII Winter Universiade in biathlon and mixed team aerials competition!
Your gold medals, the first gold medals for Kazakhstani team, are a vivid demonstration of hard work, determination and a strong will for the victory.
I wish you further successful starts at the Universiade and hope we will enjoy your victories at the other international competitions”, is written in the telegram.
Earlier today Alina Raikova opened the count of gold medals for Kazakhstani team winning biathlon individual 15km race. Her compatriot Galina Vishnevskaya, who considered one of the favorites of the race finished second. Third place of the podium went to Ukrainian athlete Nadiia Bielkina.
Later on in mixed team aerials competitions Zhanbota Aldabergenova and Baghlan Inkarbek won the second gold of the day for Kazakhstan team beating representatives of China.
